Empowering Survivors: Join Project Angel in Transforming Lives

Updated: Nov 4, 2025

A Global Mission to Heal and Empower

Project Angel is a worldwide nonprofit dedicated to helping survivors of human trafficking reclaim their lives. Our recovery center in the Sacred Valley welcomes children and adults alike, providing safe housing, counseling, and now—language lessons. We believe that communication is a powerful tool for empowerment.

We’re looking for Spanish & English tutors who can donate a few hours each week to empower our residents with the communication skills they need to thrive. Your involvement can make a significant difference in their journey toward self-advocacy and independence.

Flexible Volunteering Opportunities

To make it easy for everyone, we’ve created a rotating-team schedule. You can contribute at the cadence that works best for you, whether you’re on-site or joining via Zoom. Here’s how the rotating team works:

  • Every other week: Sign up for a bi-weekly slot; another teammate covers the alternating weeks.

  • Once a month: Pick a single day each month; the rest of the calendar is filled by other volunteers.

  • Twice a month: Choose two days that suit you; teammates fill the remaining slots.

  • Mix & match: Combine any of the above (e.g., one bi-weekly slot + one monthly slot) to create a custom rhythm.

Remote Teaching Options

If you can’t be in the Sacred Valley, you can run your lesson over Zoom. We’ll provide the meeting link and a brief orientation on the platform, so distance never limits impact.

What You’ll Do as a Volunteer

As a tutor, you will:

  • Conduct lively, bite-size lessons that include games, role-plays, and real-world scenarios.

  • Build confidence in reading, writing, and speaking for both kids and grown-ups.

  • Join a supportive, international volunteer family that celebrates every breakthrough.

Why You’ll Love Volunteering with Us

Volunteering with Project Angel offers numerous benefits:

  • Total flexibility: You set the frequency; the rotating roster ensures coverage.

  • Zoom-friendly: Teach from anywhere in the world.

  • Tangible impact: Watch learners move from silence to self-advocacy.

  • Global community: Connect with volunteers from around the world who share your passion for justice and education.

Who You Are

We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Fluent in Spanish and English (or near-native).

  • Patient, upbeat, and skilled at turning learning into an adventure for all ages.

  • Deeply committed to supporting survivors and promoting human rights.

Ready to Become a Language Hero?

If you’re excited to make a difference, send us a direct message here and tell us your preferred frequency and whether you’ll teach on-site or via Zoom. We’ll match you with the rotating schedule that works best for you and get you connected with the Sacred Valley center.

Together, we’ll give hope a voice—across continents, online and in the Sacred Valley. Your contribution can help survivors reclaim their dignity and empower them to prevent future exploitation. Join us in this vital mission and be a part of the change!
